Q1. Who are you and what's your background?
I’m Philip, the COO of Ola. My background spans a range of blockchain projects, including work with solutions for banks and central banks on CBDCs and tokenized assets. I’ve also contributed to numerous crypto initiatives, such as QTUM.
Q2. What is Ola?
Ola is a ZK-based data transportation layer, designed as a smart contract system with two core products, Onis and Massive. Together, they create an ecosystem for users to take on roles like BitVM challengers, ZK bridge supervisors, ZK verifier nodes, DA samplers, and other monitoring tasks. Our goal is to empower regular users, even those with lightweight devices like phones, to perform blockchain-related computational tasks. We aim to help decentralize and secure assets like Bitcoin through decentralized, trust-minimized bridging, offering an alternative to the current centralized wrapped options.
Q3. What is Massive?
Massive is our app, available on the App Store and Google Play. It’s designed to make it easy for everyday users to contribute to core network functions, such as verifying ZK Proofs and Data Availability Sampling for DA Layers. Through incentivization, we hope to build a vast network of end-users who strengthen the security and decentralization of modular blockchain components.
Q4. What is Onis?
Onis is a ZK service that enables proof generation from various inputs. It can help establish bridges between chains or distribute proofs to the Massive app for further verification before settlement on other chains.
Q5. What value does Ola add?
Ola aims to bring Web2 users into the Web3 space by enabling them to participate in critical blockchain operations. For instance, they can help provide "soft finality" to Layer 2s by verifying proofs before final settlement on the Layer 1, which typically occurs less frequently due to associated costs.
